COMMUNITY ADVICE AND FUNDING INFORMATION CONFERENCE

A one-day conference for the benefit of rural community groups, projects and individuals throughout Somerset

Featuring:

A series of information workshops

An informal “marketplace” of stands and displays, with funding and community advice providers

The opportunity to meet lots of useful contacts

A funding advice pack

A delegate pack crammed with useful information

 

Workshops include:

Information and support for Carers

Opportunities for Older People in the community

Transport issues in Somerset

Funding and support for rural areas

Advice from the Community Council for Somerset’s Team

 

Doors open at 09.30am for registration and welcome coffee

 

Workshop sessions will run throughout the day, lasting up to 2 hours each.

 

Starting times are as follows:

10.00am

1.30pm

5.00pm

 

Drop in and visit the “marketplace” from 10.00am – 6.00pm

Free parking and tea and coffee available.

 

Lunch will be on sale at the venue.

 

THE “MARKETPLACE”

The “marketplace” will be an opportunity for you to meet funding and community advice providers, including organisations such as: the Big Lottery, Charity Bank, Market and Coastal Towns Association, Somerset Community Foundation, representatives from the District and County Councils, ViSTA, the Energy Advice Centre and others.

Information stands and displays will be available for you to visit from 10.00am – 6.00pm. No appointments are necessary.

 

WORKSHOPS

Pre-booking is advisable to guarantee a space.  Numbers will be limited due to room size – but we will make every effort to accommodate people’s preferences.  Sessions will start promptly and last no more than two hours.  We will repeat many of them during the day, to allow maximum numbers to attend. Please indicate your plans, by ticking your preferred sessions (see booking forms, over leaf, and the workshop descriptions, provided):

 

COMMUNITY VENTURES TRAINING

A free day of training for community groups and organisations, including sessions on start up guidance, community buildings – viability and sustainability, and income generation.

 

Please note, this training is by separate invitation.  Those wishing to attend need to register separately, in advance.  Places are limited.
