This weekend saw the final of the Emerging Talent Competition 2009 at the Pilton Working Men's Club. The performers came from all over the country to compete for the chance to perform at the World Famous GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL in June. Radio 1's very own Huw Stephens had a hectic weekend. After his show on Saturday he grabbed a train from London to be there in the evening, travelled back to stand in for Nihal on Sunday afternoon and then got straight back on the train to get back to Pilton to join Michael and Emily Eavis in the judging. All of the 18 acts that appeared over the weekend were of a very high quality and as diverse as the festival itself. You will get your chance to see and hear each of the artists pictured below at the Festival but the act that Michael Eavis finally announced had won the right to play on the Pyramid stage were 'We have band'. Here are a few of the artists that appeared including, The Slips, City Metro, Maura Kincaid, Charlene Soraia, Hope and Social, Sub Universe and The Gentle Good. Congratulations to 'We Have Band' and to all those that appeared. |
