HAPPY CIRCLE The club was founded 28 years ago in 1979 by the Womens Royal Voluntary Services (WRVS) who took "meals on wheels" to certain members of the community. They thought that it would be a good idea if these villagers could meet together on two afternoons a month to socialise. The Club, which is no longer affiliated to the WRVS, has advanced a long way since then. Ena Grant thought of the name "Happy Circle". Nowadays, we are a social club for all people who are able to attend in the afternoon. At present we have 39 members. Meetings are on alternate Wednesdays at 2.00pm, either in the newly refurbished Village Hall or in the adjoining Working Mens Club (WMC) - according to the programme. We have games afternoons, speakers, a birthday meal and a Christmas lunch. There are also at least three outings a year. Back To 'PREVIOUS FEATURES' Back to 'FEATURES'
