He crash landed a year ago and within weeks the new landlord of the Crown Inn had made his mark on Pilton. Jason Neal had arrived.
Over the course of the year there were to be many entertaining evenings at the pub which were all very well attended. (Some became so popular that, at one time, even the emergency services would call in, not wanting to miss out on the action).
Never to be out done, on one unforgettable late night charity event at the Pilton Club Jason raised eyebrows as well as funds. Despite desperate pleas from the crowd to “Keep ‘em on” Jason was soon down to his string vest determined to prove himself a true red head.
In so doing, he raised more money than the rest of the night put together.
Jason has asked that his sincere thanks and best wishes be passed on to all those that came to the Crown during his ownership and to all he met during his time here in Pilton.
Whether he was pulling pints, singing karaoke, organising rounders matches on the playing field, or interviewing unsuspecting visitors to the pub through a microphone, Jason was at home. Always smiling (especially if you were buying a drink), always ready to help and never ever ever in trouble. . .
Jason Neal, “ issed but not forgotten!”
By the way, if ever you find yourself in the capital and thinking of paying a visit to the London Eye, you might want to bear this in mind… Mr Neal is now responsible for checking the connections that hold the passenger carrying pods to the framework of the wheel. . . . .
The only good thing is . . . it's pretty chilly up there, and far too cold for charity fund raising!
