WILLIE NININGER & KARL WEBER

On Friday 20th October Willie Nininger and Karl Weber played @Pilton as part of their 'You can leave your hat on' tour. During October this exceptionally talented duo who have already released several albums have played to packed venues throughout the south and this was no different. Another great night @Pilton.

THE ELO EXPERIENCE

In May the Working Men's Club held a fantastic tribute to the Electric Light Orchestra with THE ELO EXPERIENCE, and what a great experience it was. This band didn't disappoint.

There were around a 200 strong audience from all corners of Pilton and beyond who soon came to realise that they were not the only ones who knew their ELO songs.

The band played two sets. After the first set the band took a short break, where the audience waited impatiently for their return which was greeted with thunderous applause. For the second set the pace was more up beat when Beethoven was well and truly rolled over and nobody turned to stone! The dance floor was soon filled with all ages and it was plain to see that for many the evening was a welcome trip down memory lane.

The night was rounded off with the band announcing "This is our last one" but the enthusiasm of the crowd ensured that there were to be at least another three.

In 2006 the Alternative Pilton Party took place at the Club. Three exceptionally good acts provided the capacity crowd with a great evenings entertainment with performances from 'Once Under', 'Pinstripe' and finally 'Zetan Spore'. This was the second time that Zetan Spore had played at the Pilton Club and judging by the reaction they received, it certainly won't be the last.

In July Exit 24 played The Pilton Working Men's Club. Those that were there, were entertained by a fabulous set that just seemed to end far too soon. If ever they are back in Pilton make sure that you are there to see them. They won't let you down. Click HERE to visit the Exit 24 website.
