The sad thing is, that two of the following photographs were taken during initial preparations for this website and were designed to show a meeting place that had become as much a part of village life as any other building in Pilton. Used and enjoyed by many over the years, the Pilton pavilion had become an integral part of the village. A place to gather, to discuss business, to play and to relax.

Then, on the evening of Saturday 28th January 2006, four days after those photographs were taken, the Pavilion burnt down. The following morning the next two pictures were taken and the final couple show the site as it stands today.

So, far from original intentions, here now are probably the last photographs ever to be taken of the Pilton pavilion. It wasn't of any interest architecturally, not ground breaking in design and not even particularly valuable when compared with property prices today, but that didn't matter. It was the Pilton pavilion and it will be remembered by many with a great deal of fondness.
