As most people in the village know, one of Piltons favourite couples have just celebrated 40 years of wedded bliss at the Club with one of the most enjoyable and memorable nights of the year so far. Over 150 people were there to wish Sheelagh and John Allen well and congratulate them on their 40th Wedding Anniversary.
Having married amidst the hallucinogenic, happy wacky backy, flower power, Sgt Pepper, peace and love days of 1967, the dress code for the night could be nothing other than strictly 60s and, didn't the costume hire shop do well!
Rodney was, as usual excellent, entertaining everyone with a bucket load of sixties classics as well as a plethora of well known tracks from The Beatles. This was punctuated by Andy Reilly who provided even more songs from the era and together they ensured that the dancing continued way into the night.
So, on behalf of all those that were there, thank you again to Sheelagh and John for inviting us into their yellow submarine, being excellent hosts and providing everyone with such a great night. Here's to another 40 years ... man!
